Today I awoke to a little white bundle of joy snuggled up to my legs snoring loudly.

The sun rose warm and beautiful this morning. Blue skies graced the sky as Andrei and I trudged through the tall grass and woods. 

Today I awoke just before the sun… freezing cold - we forgot to turn the heat back on last night before we went to bed!

Today I awoke to my alarm clock blaring and I couldn’t for the life of me wake up… poor little Nellie didn’t get to sleep over with me at Nanny’s - so you can imagine her excitement when she drove over with Papa to pick me up for our beautiful morning walk! 

Today I awoke to little Nellie so excited to play outside… a beautiful morning!

Today I awoke to pouring down rain… and tonight, it continues to steadily come down. I’m sure the sun rose and set but Nellie did not get her walk. 

Today is Saturday! We have waited all week for today!! It’s grocery shopping day! I even pulled out jeans for the occasion!

Sunshine and a beautiful walk to start this morning!

Today I awoke, thankful it is Friday! Thankful for boots in the mud along the walk in the rain as the sun tried to shine through the gray clouds…

Today, unlike yesterday - I felt like I was hit by a truck… coffee, walk, coffee. Repeat. Sunrise. Sunset.

Today I awoke to Nellie demanding a walk first thing… tall grass, no fox, blustery wind… home again. Sunrise. Freezing cold. Frost.

Today I awoke to Nellie staring at me with a giant question mark on her face… She had her very first sleepover at Nanny’s house last night! As I pulled out of our driveway to head to my mom’s, Andrei ran back into the house like a parent who just got their babysitter and kids settled and was off to enjoy his moment of freedom! Hah!

Today I awoke rested, refreshed and grateful. Nellie’s walk was cut short by Mr. Fox who made his appearance at the far end of the field. Thankfully, two mallard ducks helped redirect Nellie in the opposite direction! 

The sun rose again… beautiful and warm. 

Today I awoke in my comfy bed at home to a little four-legged bundle of love wrapped around my legs and sharing my pillow! So grateful to Kia and Leah for staying with my mom!

Nellie had an extended walk along the river while the sun erased the early morning frost ...

Today I awoke (the first time) at 4:35am to my phone ringing. In my sleepy state, I answered my mom who was asking for help in getting out of bed. I honestly thought I was home in my own bed and thought it was Leah and Kia’s turn … so I told her to call Leah...

Today I awoke to freezing temperatures and frost on the windshield as we pulled out of the driveway to take the little one for her walk… She pranced through the fields and woods - full of life and joy!

The sun rose - reminding us of a brand new day!

Today I awoke to Kat loudly hissing at me to get up… “Can’t you hear Nanny calling you?!” “No… actually, I was sound asleep!” There are certain shifts for which I’m just about useless… and that would be the overnight watch - especially after a few nights in a row!

Today I awoke to no little pup snuggled up to my legs snoring loudly… Poor little Nellie apparently wandered about all night last night looking for Mommy… who was sleeping at Nanny’s.

Today I awoke to a little white bundle of joy snuggled up to my legs snoring loudly… our little, Nellie. She sets the tone every morning, creating rhythm and routine regardless of whether we’d prefer to stay in bed or not.

Today I awoke to pouring down rain and barreling winds. There was no morning walk, only piles of laundry to walk about all day!

Today I awoke in my mom’s guest room and immediately remembered why I got rid of that mattress! Initially it felt like heaven when I was falling asleep… but it took me all day to get rid of the kinks in my back and neck!

Today I rose well before the sun after tossing and turning - trying not to worry about my mom. Our beautiful daughter, Leah and my sweet niece, Kia stayed overnight to care for her and tuck her into bed. They are so gracious and kind and treat their Nanny with steadfast love. So even though we’d love to wrap her up in bubble packing and put her back into isolation - that can’t happen for now. So it’s round the clock “maid” service! And lo and behold the woman has hand sanitizer just sitting around! What!?
