Thanksgiving 2021
Exactly one year ago…

And now our dearly beloved now lives eternally
with God, our Father.

The lessons we learned during our year of being a hospice family changed us.

Formed us. Made us new.

It is good. 
For all things. 

There isn’t a day that passes, that some version of these words don’t leave my mouth… to remind me of a life beyond what I see and feel today.

An eternal life…

Yesterday, I received an email for my mom from the Silver Sneakers program - promoting some upcoming fitness opportunities for their members.

During the last year of my mom’s life, she was unable to put on a pair of shoes - never mind get out to any fitness program.

And when you’ve done everything possible to stand …

Stand, therefore…

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord -
their hope and confidence.”

“Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.

Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting
you are God…”

Elizabeth Ann “Nanny” (Hines) Charters, 77, of Lower Macungie Township, passed away October 14, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her family.

Early in the morning
Just before the sun arose…
Heaven dipped low -
And collected His beloved Home.

Can I tell you a story as I sit - alongside one who welcomes Home to come and collect His Beloved home…

One day we will have passed through -
To arrive at a place beyond -
Where we find ourselves today…
Simply moving through. 

I want to talk about it…
Rehash it -
Pick it up again
Again…

Can we discipline ourselves to remain fixed on Christ-
The Author and Finisher of our faith?

Fixed on Him and not our feelings?
Fixed on Heaven not things here on earth?
Fixed on the eternal
The Immortal
The One True God…

TRUTH says -

Praise is the weapon we valiantly wield… Praise is the posture the heart must take… Praise is the key for unlocking the doorthat we might enter…

Into the quiet place - The place of true rest…

And He led the Israelites through the desert
A pillar of cloud by day
A pillar of fire by night…

Wandering and weaving
A twelve day journey evolving into
Forty long years…

It’s Him - buried deep within our hearts
Illuminating our path…
Paving the way forward
Step by step…

Nail-scarred hands

When the low rumble of watching suffering ebb and flow before our eyes… makes us eternally tired. Exhausted.

May suffering never suffocate but rather sanctify…

The goodness of God never relies on us to carry out its sovereign work … to weave and work together ALL THINGS together for GOOD.
