Rooted - Day Twenty-Seven

Rooted

I once heard a quote
that I’d love to cite -
but have never found the author
to give them credit….

“The further from home you travel - the more perspective you gain of home…”

There’s a little window of time
just as home approaches
after a time away…

When the foggy-groggy restful state
hasn't quite encountered reality…
AND IT’S BLISS.

It’s beautiful,
restful,
refreshing
BLISS…

It’s the gift of having seen
HOME
from afar…

The gift of having had
a good hard look
at the whole.

The gift of staring
into the mirror
and seeing -
what being away
allowed.

THE GIFT OF PERSPECTIVE

The gift of invitation to
bravely step forward
and change the necessary.

The gift of courage to
step forward and speak truth.

The gift of invitation to
forge out contentment -
while looking at greener grass
across barren fields.

And sometimes gifts are messy
they make us cry and weep…
Especially gifts that pierce our hearts
by givers who know us well…

And tonight I’m resting in this gift…
and it produces within me:

The desire to change.
The prayer to be content.
The hope to endure.
The joy to be strong.
The love to cover all.

Rooted in Him
The Cross of Christ my guide.
