Day Thirteen is ending with a giant full moon rising ever so slowly across the night sky…

I stood for a moment tonight, pondering its majesty… and remembered teaching the kiddos when they were little about moon phases, gravitational pull, tides, and earth.

We would sit in a darkened room and I would take the flashlight, the globe, and a basketball and try to explain the different dynamics and moon phases…

We sat on the floor in the darkness, with the “moon rising” across the “night sky…”

And together we caught glimpses
of understanding
as to how tiny we are
compared to the massive universe.

And yet…

God, chose to create
humanity in His image.

Tonight, as I fall into bed thoroughly spent… the moon is peeking in through the window shades.

I am reminded:

I am seen.
And known.
And dearly loved.

And this comforts my heart
that took an emotional beating today -
watching one I love fade…
