ROOTED
It’s risky…
Every year - I commit to one month of open and public journaling via some type of social media platform.
Every year - I cringe at the onset and breathe with relief when the time finally comes to a close.
Every year - I imagine it will be the last and final year of this disciplined practice.
And every year - God asks again.
I write to remember…
To remember the faithfulness of God -
In the good -
In the dark -
In the mundane -
Deuteronomy 6 reminds us over and over to remember the faithfulness of God.
God - instructing His people to observe the practice of remembering,
observing,
posting,
and assigning
WORDS…
To openly and boldly declare -
His faithfulness
His character
His goodness
His truth…
… to a people in transition.
A people leaving one home and making their way to the land of Promise.
A people who marched on dry ground ACROSS the Red Sea.
A people who ate mundane manna and quail for every meal.
A people who -
Fought and conquered…
Marched and praised…
Crumbled and grumbled…
… a people in transition.
Tomorrow, I have committed to open the window for a 30-day glimpse into my world.
A world where everything is in transition.
With multiple homes overlapping…
A mom heading for Heaven…
Teenagers graduating…
College looming…
Gardens blooming…
And it’s not neat and tidy.
Yet, it’s beautiful…
But it is fully overshadowed by intense grief…
I write - to find my way to the Cross.
It’s my way of plowing through.
I cannot promise…
fanfare or great stories,
warm or fuzzy feelings…
But I can promise
a heart open and vulnerable…
fiercely fighting - to make
the Cross of Christ my guide.
Welcome, dear friends…
