Rooted - Day Seventeen

Rooted

Tonight, as Day Seventeen ends on Nanny Island -

I am grateful…
I’m exhausted -
But, I’m grateful.

I am so thankful to my youngest sister for coming to give me a break today. I accomplished more in those six hours than I normally do in a week.

I am also thankful for my other sister who is such an amazing nurse while carrying many other roles. She is so wise when it comes to answering medical questions…

I am so thankful for my brother who stepped in tonight so I could come home and sleep in my “real house.”

I am so thankful for special friends and family members who show us love in practical and tangible ways.

And not one of these ask for anything in return…
They just serve - as they’re able.

And their gifts of love - multiply and grow…

One of my errands, today, was the post office. The woman who took care of my shipments beamed with joy…

I thanked her for sharing her joy…

And it seemed this contagious gift of joy was insistent in following me as I ran my errands…

Generous,
Joyful
Life-giving
JOY

And by the time I arrived back home - my bucket had been filled to overflowing…

Maybe we’ll never really understand the potential each of us holds to speak life and offer joy others -

Regardless of how our paths cross…
And that joy is spread -
from one
to another
and another…

Tonight, even though I can’t keep my eyes open long enough to proofread this entry…

My heart is at peace…
Grateful
Thankful
Full of joy…

And much of that is because - gracious, everyday, imperfect humans -
PAUSED
CHOSE
DECIDED
SUBMITTED
HONORED
VALUED

THAT type of sacrificial living produces a harvest… a million fold!
