Over and over
The words ring out -
Across barren deserts and fruitful plains…
“His love endures forever.”
When hearts are bare and heavy laden?
“His love endures forever -“
And the world seems turned upside down?
“His love endures forever - “
When spouses leave, children die, parents fail, and all is lost?
“His love endures forever - “
And we grasp to understand
Grasp to comprehend ---
What, then, is LOVE?
For surely, we know what FOREVER is --
Love is not simply a transitory feeling,
Here today, gone tomorrow…
Love isn’t duty or an obligation -
Wrapped neatly in sheer determined grit…
Love has been and continues forward,
On a never-ending trajectory -
Spanning both east and west…
Arms opened wide.
Drawing in the brokenhearted to come near -
To come close and hear…
The whispers of grace on battered hearts.
“His love endures forever - “
Broken hearted - with sheer determined grit
Love carried our Cross to the hill called Golgotha -
Conquering death that we might be free.
Love paid the ultimate suffering…
So, that in our suffering,
We might lean close and see
Nail-scarred palms - upturned and stretched forth
“His love enduring forever --“
Love conquered death and was raised to LIFE
Offering us HOPE and a future
Love went to the hill that we might lift our eyes to the hills -
From there our Help will come!
Love storms down the mountainside for the one who calls
Love endures all as we fall short
Love holds our broken hearts near and
Whispers…
“Come and see - this world is not your final home.
To know and understand is to
Know and understand in suffering…”
And we lift our eyes from our present circumstances,
Wondering and doubting if those words could be true...
For what is faith without honest doubt…
Faith lifts our eyes to see - to know and comprehend -
Fatih steps forward with sheer determined grit
Fatih places present circumstances in the shadow of the Cross.
Faith speaks life and truth
Faith calls to mind the faithfulness of Love…
Faith drives us to remember ....
Over and over -
Day by day…
Moment by moment -
Year after year...

To him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt,

And brought Israel out from among them,

With a mighty hand and outstretched arm,
His love endures forever -
To him who divided the Red Sea asunder,
His love endures forever -
And brought Israel through the midst of it all,
His love endures forever -
But swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea,

To him who led his people through the desert,

Who struck down great kings,

And killed mighty kings,

To the One who remembered us in our low estate,

And freed us from our enemies,
