Rooted - Day Ten

June 10, 2022
Rooted

Have you ever tried
to explain Heaven…
To someone you love?

Who’s heading there -
And so it seems
someday soon…?

It’s daunting.
Believe me.

To explain to someone
You dearly love -
How the streets of gold
Will be better than
this street here tonight…

To dig down deep
for words of faith
To serve to one
Who doesn’t need religion
But TRUTH.

Who can’t see the “use” of
being surrounded by
pearly gates and
glittering jewels…

Who would pick a cardboard shack
With no gate and no lock
Surrounded by -
kids, kids, and more kids…

Have you ever tried -
To make your home here on earth
(The one in which we learn
TO BE CONTENT…)
Pale in comparison with HEAVEN?

Have you ever tried to compare
a world without grandkids
and all that’s familiar
With HEAVEN?

Because that’s how we finished up Day Ten here on Nanny Island…

As we gripped one another’s hands
And tried to be brave…

To bow so very low
That the only place left to look -
WAS UP…

To the hills -

From there OUR HELP comes!

To trust again
and again…
and again…

That He who began a
GOOD WORK in us -
Will see it through
To completion!

And so -
for every second
that breath still moves within
OUR LUNGS…

We trust.

That Heaven will be good.

Just like He promises.

No tears
No pain
No fears
No sorrow
No physical brokenness
No brokenness at all…

And we smiled at one another -
as tears rolled down our cheeks…

Remembering …

The goodness of God
in the land of living…

Come Heaven
Dip low…
That we would be brave

As you come…
May we taste and smell
The land of promise…
As You draw near.

We step forward
As only you allow…

Rooted in Him.
The Cross of Christ my guide.
