Our Yoke

January 20, 2022

This morning I walked in through the main entrance of the hospital to pick up meds for our mom. I passed by so many who carried such heavy burdens and cares. Their yokes not easy - their burdens in no way light. My heart broke as I stood waiting for my turn.

“In this world, you will have trouble…”

As I exited through a different set of doors, I was met with a blast of freezing cold air. Not necessarily fresh, but certainly free. As I made my way back to the little nesting spot we call home right now - a place where we love and care for my mom (Nanny) with hope for a future with promise - (not on this side of eternity… ) I reminded myself of the goodness of God.

“In this world, you will have trouble…”

We are so grateful for all your prayers and love. So grateful for the angelic hospice workers who partner with us to bring care and comfort, honor and dignity to our mom.

John 16:33

“I have told you these things, so that in Me, you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but TAKE HEART! I have overcome the world.”

Friend - your journey may be completely different to mine. Your trouble may look nothing like mine. Yet together, may we both be encouraged to remember -

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy - My burden is light.”

HE is our yoke.
